UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR LEARNING
Community of Practice in
Newfoundland & Labrador

Creating inclusive, accessible learning together.

Where Inclusion Begins

Growing a Universal Design for Learning Community in Newfoundland and Labrador

The Universal Design for Learning Community of Practice is a growing network of educators, students, community members, and advocates working together to advance inclusive education across Newfoundland and Labrador.

We believe in the power of collaboration to improve learning environments for all. By sharing knowledge, resources, and lived experiences, we aim to embed Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into everyday educational practice, from classrooms to field education to community settings.

Whether you're just starting out or deepening your UDL practice, we invite you to explore what’s here. Visit the UDL Toolkit to dive into curated resources and practical strategies, check out our Events to connect with others, or browse our Community News for stories, reflections, and spotlights. You can also join our Zotero group to access the most recent research in accessible education. Let this be a space where your journey toward inclusive teaching begins, or continues, with community.

We acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island. In Newfoundland and Labrador, this includes the ancestral territory of the Beothuk and the homelands of the Mi’kmaq, Innu, Inuit, and Métis. We honour their histories and ongoing relationships to these lands.
